Epos Now pricing in the US: what Epos Now publishes

Epos Now publishes a card rate, a termination formula and a hardware liability — more detail than most of this group. It also publishes two different sets of prices in two different places, which is the first thing to reconcile.

The pricing page shows an offer, not a price list

The US pricing page, fetched on 17 September 2026, carried no standing price table. What it served instead were campaign offers, and the page markup contained several of them at once: "Complete POS System for only $399"; "Get your offer now. Save $900! $399* + $84/month"; "Was $1,099 Now from $399"; and dated promotions at $249, $299 and $199, each behind a countdown timer reading two days and some hours.

The terms publish a different pair of prices

Appendix 1 of Epos Now's US terms and conditions, read on the same date, publishes two propositions, and both start at zero up front:

Epos Now US propositions, as published in Appendix 1 on 2026-09-17
PropositionUp frontMonthlyPayments
Plus$0$99Epos Now Payments at 2.6% + 10c
Basic$0$129Third-party payments

The relationship between the two is the most useful clause on the page: a merchant who does not use Epos Now Payments, or who fails the minimum transaction test, is downgraded to Basic — the package that costs $30 a month more. The minimum transaction level is defined per rolling 45-day period as either at least 75% of your card processing or a minimum of $2,500 in card payments. Payments are stated to be provided through a facilitating bank, named as Adyen.

The difference between the pricing page and the terms is not a contradiction so much as two sales routes: a discounted up-front hardware bundle on one, a zero-up-front subscription on the other. Both were published on 17 September 2026, and the hardware consequences differ, so ask which one your quote belongs to. One oddity is recorded as found: Appendix 1 ends with "All prices exclude VAT", a UK tax term on a US terms page.

The card rate, which is published

The US payment processing page publishes a single fixed rate: card payments at 2.6% + 0.10c, customer refunds free, with no hidden fees, no additional authorization charges and no PCI-compliance fees. Appendix 1 states the same rate as 2.6% + 10c. Larger businesses are directed to custom processing pricing, which is not published. One flat rate covering all card types is easy to model, but it is by construction a blended rate: a debit tap and a rewards credit card cost the same, so whether it favours you depends on your card mix. The page also promotes surcharging described as recovering up to 3% of processing costs, a customer-facing model governed by state law and network disclosure rules — our state-by-state surcharge rules guide sets out where it is permitted.

Term, termination and hardware — all published

  • Monthly rolling propositions can be terminated by the merchant on one calendar month's written notice, expiring at the end of a calendar month.
  • Fixed-period propositions run to the last day of the fixed period. Notice can be given at any time before that date but cannot end the agreement earlier; if no notice is given, the agreement continues month by month and can then be ended on one month's notice. That is a gentler default than the automatic multi-year renewals elsewhere in this comparison.
  • Leaving a fixed period early costs the aggregate of the remaining monthly payments falling due before the end of the period, payable immediately, with a 3.5% discount applied on payment being received.
  • Hardware title passes to the merchant where an up-front payment is made. On the zero-up-front propositions, title stays with Epos Now and the hardware must be returned at the end of the agreement, with return labels provided. Hardware not returned within 60 days of the due date may be invoiced at the published Hardware Cost: $2,000 on Plus and $1,500 on Basic.
  • Price increases require one calendar month's written notice. On a fixed term, if an increase — or the total of increases over a rolling twelve months — exceeds 2% above US CPI inflation at the date of notice, the merchant may terminate on one month's notice. An inflation-linked escape hatch of that kind is unusual in this market and worth noticing.

What Epos Now does not publish

  • The length of the fixed periods, which are referred to but not specified in the published terms.
  • Which proposition the campaign offers on the pricing page map to, or the monthly fee that accompanies a $399 hardware purchase.
  • Custom processing rates for larger businesses, and any monthly fees attached to them.

What to settle before signing

  1. Which proposition you are being sold — a $0 up-front subscription or a discounted hardware bundle — and the monthly fee that goes with it.
  2. The length of the fixed period in months, and the resulting early-termination figure at month 6 and month 12.
  3. Whether you own the hardware or must return it, in writing, because the published Hardware Cost is $1,500 to $2,000.
  4. Confirmation of the 2.6% + $0.10 rate for your account specifically, including American Express, and whether custom pricing has been applied instead.
  5. What happens if you fall under the minimum transaction level in a 45-day period, given the published downgrade to Basic.

How an independent agent's quote differs

We place the merchant account with a processor and name every component — interchange as the card networks publish it, network assessments, and our markup on its own line — which turns the comparison against a 2.6% + $0.10 flat rate into straightforward arithmetic rather than a judgement call. A business weighted towards regulated debit typically fares differently under a blended rate than one weighted towards rewards credit. Related questions

Two different answers were published on eposnow.com on 17 September 2026. The US pricing page served campaign offers built around $399 up front plus $84 a month, against a $1,099 reference price. Appendix 1 of the US terms and conditions publishes two propositions instead: Plus at $0 up front and $99 a month with Epos Now Payments, and Basic at $0 up front and $129 a month with third-party payments.

Its US payment processing page publishes card payments at 2.6% + 0.10c with refunds free, and states there are no hidden fees, no additional authorization charges and no PCI-compliance fees. Appendix 1 of the terms states the same rate as 2.6% + 10c on the Plus proposition. Custom pricing is offered for larger businesses and is not published.

Its US terms publish both models. Monthly rolling propositions can be terminated on one calendar month's written notice expiring at the end of a calendar month. Fixed-period propositions run to the last day of the fixed period and then continue month by month. The payment processing page separately states there are no long-term contracts with Epos Now Payments.

Its terms publish the formula: terminating before the end of a fixed period makes you responsible for the aggregate of the remaining monthly payments falling due before the end of that period, due immediately, with a 3.5% discount applied on payment being received.

It depends which proposition you take. The terms state that title passes to you when an upfront payment is made. Where there is no up-front payment, title stays with Epos Now and the hardware must be returned at the end of the agreement — and if it is not returned within 60 days of the due date, Epos Now may invoice the Hardware Cost, published as $2,000 on Plus and $1,500 on Basic.
